Here is my C.V. and links to more info on LinkedIn, Academia.edu, and my student page on the USC Anthropology website.

colin on drums I am a cultural anthropologist currently working on my PhD at the University of South Carolina at Columbia.  I have been a drummer/percussionist for over thirty years, progressing throughout my life from elementary school orchestra to high school symphonic and marching band to several touring metal and rock bands.  After a few too many years of playing in dive bars and working in greasy kitchens, I decided it was time to exercise my intellect and pursue higher education.

My lifelong passion for music, combined with a curiosity about other cultures, eventually led me to cultural anthropology and ethnomusicology.  After completing my bachelor’s degree at Western Carolina University in 2006 I entered the graduate program at USC, earning a master’s degree in cultural anthropology in 2008.  At the moment, I am working hard towards the completion of my doctorate, with the eventual goal of teaching in a college or university while continuing my research in music and religion.  I am also an adjunct instructor at both USC and Midlands Technical College, teaching courses in introductory cultural anthropology and various upper-level anthropology courses.

I currently reside in Columbia, where I live with my wife and our two children.  We also have a couple of fish, but they don’t figure into the picture much.

Below are the results of an exhaustive and rigid scientific test I once took to determine my personality profile:
